Gizmodo gives an interesting explanation on why it won't.

I don't know about "Save" the internet...but it will be interesting as to how all this will be implemented.

Only time will tell to see how much of a difference HTML5 will really make.

This is one of those topic I read a lot about and while most people will likely never notice who "wins" the repercussions could potentially be huge.

(gfAdmin glad to see another avid giz reader)

If things continue on their current path with apple bullying companies into HTML5 in order for them to tap into the ipad/pod market and google packaging flash into its chrome browser, a browser that has already surpassed safari's market share and is still growing (http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=7491), which ever format pulls ahead and becomes the clear victor will put its supporting company in a great position to do some serious damage to each other's future devieces (keep in mind that the future google tablets will supposedly feature the Chrome OS based off of Chrome, or rather a freestanding version of Chrome).

Most people dont realize this is another VCR vs BetaMax/HDDVD vs Bluray except way less obvious but with consequences far more reaching for both the future of hardware and the internet.
